Scope
Single-page launch
The brief.
Kavi is a small research lab studying AI safety. They wanted a launch site that read like a long essay — no feature grid, no testimonials, no CTA repeated four times. Just the argument for why the lab existed and an email field at the bottom.
The approach.
I treated the page as a single editorial spread. One typeface, one accent color, the lead paragraph above the fold and the close at the bottom. The middle is the argument — six sections that each take exactly one screen, with quiet typographic transitions between them.
The outcome.
Average time on page is 4 minutes 20. The lab signed two of the three researchers they were courting in the first month. The page has not been redesigned since launch, and the team has resisted every request to add a marketing-style block to it.
